SEALERS
Common Questions & Answers
Q. What does the sealer do?
A. When applied the sealer soaks deep into the grout and when it dries it makes your wall tile and grout virtually waterproof.
Sealing your grout can greatly improve its life span and make it easer to clean. Sealing your shower is also a great way to
help prevent mold or mildew from forming. The process is fast and very inexpensive and can be done in most cases in less then 15 minutes. As a full service company we are happy to provide this quality service.
Q. What are the benefits of sealing my wall or floor tile?
A. There are many benefits
to applying a sealer. Fist, the primary benefit is that it may greatly enhance the life-span of your tile
and grout making it last, and look better longer. Once sealed the sealer helps prevent the grout from getting deep down dirty. When it is time to clean you will find the dirt and grime is on the surface of the grout rather then soaked deep inside of it. In a shower the primary benefit
of applying a sealing agent is water resistance. Most people don't realize that every time you take a shower the grout between the tile can soak up to a quart of water. This water then slowly dries throughout the day making a perfect breading ground for mold or mildew. Sealing your grout can prevent this. Constant soaking of
unsealed grout can weaken it over time and lead to wet wall board and eventually to costly wall or floor repairs.
Q. Is it for me?
A. The sealer is for the grout and tile only. If you had your shower or any tile regrouted, power cleaned,
steam cleaned, repaired or
newly installed it is very important to seal it. If you only had minor touch-up work done or caulking work done you probably need not worry about this process. Caulk is non porous and can not be sealed.
On the other hand, periodic cleaning and sealing of your grout is a good idea.
Q. Should I do anything before I seal my grout?
A. Yes. If it is not a new shower or newly regrouted it should be cleaned
before it is sealed. We offer a powerful steam cleaning service that used forced super heated
steam vapor to blast your grout clean. If you are the do it yourself type consider
buying one of our steam cleaners. They are amazing around the house and have hundreds of uses! We have the

Q. When should it be done?
A. After a new installation of tile or after having your shower regrouted, power cleaned, or repaired you should seal your grout. Newly installed grout must cure for
2 to 3 days before we can apply the sealer to the grout. After this cure period we strongly recommend you seal your grout. If you have had it power cleaned
or steam cleaned we can seal your grout the next day. Note that during the cure period of
2-3 days you can use your shower, you just can not seal it.
Q. If I had work done by another company will you seal it for me?
A. Yes. It amazes us how many tile contractors out there do not come back to seal their
grout work or even mention the sealing process to their customers. We will be happy to come by and seal your tile and grout for you.
Sealing your grout is an important step and should be done as soon as possible.
With your sealer kit you can now seal it yourself! See the top or bottom of this
page for more information.
Q. Can I do it myself?
A. Yes, we even
provide a complete grout sealer kit. The kit includes an instructional video,
rags and an easy to use spray on penetrating sealer. The work is not to hard but must be done right and you
should wear proper gear including breathing apparatus. When working in an enclosed room it is important to have proper ventilation and follow all manufacture instructions.
A fan in the window should do the trick. With our very low prices you may considering just having us seal it for you.
Q. How often do I have to seal my grout?
A. We recommend that you completely clean and seal your grout yearly or at least bi-yearly. It is true that once sealed your grout is protected for years to come but it is also true that todays harsh cleaners may break down the sealer with regular cleaning. Note that we do offer a comprehensive maintenance and cleaning service that you may want done, perhaps once a year. After we clean the area we can re-seal it.
Q. Can I pay by check or Credit Card?
A, Absolutely! You can pay by check, cash, or credit card. We accept VISA, MASTER CARD & DISCOVER.
You can order your sealer kit by calling 1-800-490-1886.
Q. Wouldn't it just be easier to replace my tile floor or wall tile?
A. There are many downfalls to replacing your bathroom or kitchen tile. First, the huge cost. Replacing a bathroom in the NY, NJ area will cost you from $5,000 to $10,000 or more. Furthermore, you will have to give up your privacy and deal with work crews. You may also have to obtain building permits, deal with town inspectors and the huge mess and headache involved with the gutting of your bathroom. Next, you will have to buy all the needed tile and decide on a style for your new room. All this can take several weeks where as with a full REGROUTING, REPAIR, REGLAZING or POWER-BUFFING we can make your bathroom look like new in less then a day for a fraction of the price. JUST RENEW-IT Saves you time & money!! We also offer NEW SHOWER INSTALLATIONS!
